*Charity Relief Organizations (A Short List)*

In the wake of all the recent disasters, the following list of national and international charities should prove useful to anyone interested in providing assistance financially or otherwise. The following list, though not definitive, is a “jumping-off-point” for those who don’t know where to begin looking.

  • American Red Cross
    “Since its founding in 1881 by visionary leader Clara Barton, the American Red Cross has been the nation's premier emergency response organization.”

  • AusAid
    “AusAID is the Australian Government agency responsible for managing the Australian Government's official overseas aid program.”

  • Catholic Charities USA
    “Catholic Charities USA is the membership association of one of the nation's largest social service networks. Catholic Charities agencies and institutions nationwide provide vital social services to people in need, regardless of their religious, social, or economic backgrounds.”

  • Habitat for Humanity
    “Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry.”

  • International Aid Services
    “International Aid Services (IAS) is a relief and development organisation. The organisation has independant registrations in Denmark, Germany, Norway and Sweden. Each IAS European Headquarters has its own board and a partnership agreement is signed between them. The role of the partnership agreement is to combine the different country's goals and vision to assist people in need.”
