Deidre Sims Recipient Of 2005 ALLA/PART Cash-Grant Award

Congratulations to Deidre Sims on her selection as the recipient of the "2005 ALLA/PART Cash-Grant Award."

The 2005 Recipient of the Alabama Library Association's (ALLA's)/Paraprofessional Round Table (PART)-Tuscaloosa Library Bindery Cash-Grant Award is awarded to a deserving and/or distinguished individual, who was selected by his/her peers as Alabama's Libraries Paraprofessional of the Year. The award is for an individual within the paraprofessional/library support staff ranks who has answered the call and risen to the occasion to achieve greatness within the library profession, while continually serving as an exemplary role model for all of her comrades, colleagues, staff associates, co-workers and acquaintances from within and outside of the library profession. ALLA is the Alabama Library Association; PART is the Paraprofessional Roundtable.

Mrs. Sims is presently employed at the Birmingham Public Library (BPL) in Alabama and has continually received accolades and high praise for her exemplary and extraordinary work and accomplishments on behalf of the teen and youth patrons of the Birmingham Public Library.

The Alabama Library Association's Paraprofessional Round Table is privileged and proud to have an individual of such profound professionalism and impeccable character as Mrs. Deidre Sims among their ranks.

On a personal note, I am highly encouraged and very optimistic that the selection of Deidre Sims as the recipient of the "2005 ALLA/PART Cash-Grant Award" will inspire both professionals and paraprofessionals alike to achieve greatness not only in the library profession, but in all of their lifelong endeavors.
