The April 5th workshop will be at Kent State University and the April 6th one will be at Southern State Community College. The workshops will run from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. The featured speaker is Dr. Linda Dobb, Executive Vice President of Bowling Green State University. Her topic will be on "Continuing Education for Support Staff." The afternoon will feature Tom Warren and Jeph Remley from Kent State. They will demonstrate a program they designed to do online interactive training for Circulation workers. There will also be time for tours and networking at each facility.

Join the Kansas Library Operation Associates for our annual conference to be held in Hays, Kansas, May 3 and 4, 2001, at the Holiday Inn. Entitled "Facing the Challenges of the 21st Century: Soaring to New Heights", the conference is June 13-15, 2001 at St. John's University in Jamaica, NY.

Out-of-staters are welcome also! Some of the more than 20 workshops being offered are: How to Be a Good Supervisor, Everyday Law, Basic Trouble-shooting for Non-techies, Positive Approaches to Problematic People, Business Writing, Continuing Education/Distance Learning, and workshops about Excel, HTML, and Word. Keynote speakers are Howard Dodson, Chief of The Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, and Connie Elliott, Director for Tourism for Anderson County and President of Ideal Events, overseeing a leadership development program.
