Letters to the Editors

From: SDONK@ACSPR1.acs.brockport.edu
Date: 26 Jul 96 11:49:34 EDT
Subject: back issue problem

Is there any reason why I can down load all back issues
of Associates except for the July 1994 issue? The
response I get is: Log9407 is unknown to Listserv.

[Editors' Note: For some reason, the July 1994 issue
of _ASSOCIATES_has been deleted from by the KU Computer
Center (with apologies but no restoration). This issue
is, however, available from BUBL, the Bulletin Board
For Libraries. Instructions for accessing BUBL are in
our Archives section. It is also available via a website
listed below in a letter from Linda Owens.]

Subject: listserv

Good morning. I have seen references to a listserv for
library support staff called LIBSUP-L. Is this indeed a
listserv. Would someone be willing to tell me how I might
be able to subscribe. I am in a support position at a
law firm library. I currently receive the Associates
publication and really enjoy it and appreciate it's
contents. Thanks for the help.

Subject: Associates on the web

Hi Kendall,

Have been meaning to write to you for awhile, but receiving
the latest issue of *Associates* prompted me to finally do it.
I recently found *Associates*, marked up (HTML), on the web at:

     http://www.trinity.edu/departments/maddux_library/associat.html

It is much easier to use and looks nicer than the BUBL version
and I would like to provide a link to it from the LSSRC. But
since I hadn't seen anything about on LIBSUP-L or in *Associates*,
I thought I should check with you first to see if it has been
authorized. At one point it wasn't up to date and I sent an email
message asking if they planned to keep it up to date and they said
they did. It includes all issues except the one that just came out
yesterday.

Are you aware of it? Please let me know if it would be okay for
us to include a link to it from the LSSRC.

Thanks.

Martha

Not sure quite how to do this, but please remove me from your list
of subscribers. Nothing to do with the quality of your publication,
just no time at my end to read it. Thanks.

Subject: Copyright Question

Greetings.

My name is Jim Johnston and I had an article printed in Vol. 2,
No. 3 of your publication, entitled "View from the Back Room."

I'm writing due to a little luck on my part.

Y'see, a different publication has contacted me for permission
to republish my article. Now I know there was no copyright
paperwork signed or whatever when I submitted my article to your
publication (and a quick review of the actual issue shows no
copyright claims made), but thought it would be best (if only
out of politeness) to drop you a line and verify that I still
have the copyright to my article. (Or, rather, to find out if
I do ... )

Please reply as soon as you can (that would be a.s.a.y.c.,
right?) in that I have a deadline on this.
