*Associates Needs New Editor Beginning July 2006 Issue*
After five years as editor of Associates, it is time for me to move on. I am honored to have been editor and am grateful to have contributed to the recognition efforts of library support staff.
The new editorship needs to begin with the July 2006 issue.
The French general and politician Napoleon Bonaparte said: "Ability is of little account without opportunity." How does this apply to Associates: The Electronic Library Support Staff Journal?
To be the editor of Associates, two abilities are needed:
1) Enthusiasm for and dedication to library support staff concerns;
2) Capability to eventually house the Associates website and two subscription listservs.
Being editor does require time. And learning a bit of html (or knowing someone who knows some html). When I look back at what I have enjoyed most, I think of the many people I corresponded with world-wide. People who love libraries. People who voice the concerns of library support staff. People who are humorous, educated, intellectual, talented. People who are shy about writing an article and need some encouragement--and people who astound me with their gift of writing.
Here is the opportunity for you to become the editor of Associates. You have the capability to continue this worthy publication.
Please write to me; I'll be happy to answer any questions.
Thank you,
Wendee Eyler
