INFO FROM THE SUPERHIGHWAY by Linda Putnam Senior Library Technical Assistant Document Library Florida State University putnaml@mail.firn.edu Voting in America is not just a right and a privilege but a necessity for all clear thinking Americans. I do not believe we should sit back and complain about what goes on in Washington or in our individual state legislatures if we will not even vote. It is the responsibility of all Americans to GET OUT AND VOTE. This is not a column to tell you how to vote. It is each person's right and responsibility as a citizen to vote as his or her conscience dictates. This column is designed to give voters the resources for voting responsibly; knowing what the federal and state issues are, how our representatives voted in the past, and what some of the new candidates propose. If you do not see something from your favorite party it is not because I am against that party; it is because I have found no information online about them. Not all political parties or organizations have the resources to design and support a Web page, and some who have designed them have not publicized them so that I could find them. Again I wish to stress that I am not advocating one party over another or one site over another, I am just encouraging you to do a little research to learn who and what you are voting for before you GET OUT AND VOTE. Many of these sites overlap information and links but each has some significant unique qualities to it. Please use them, enjoy them and most of all GET OUT AND VOTE!!!!!!
