Rotorua, New Zealand
The Annual Conference of the Library and Information Association New Zealand Aotearoa (LIANZA) is the single largest gathering of library and information professionals in New Zealand, and one of the largest in Australasia, attracting approximately 700 delegates each year. In this time of rapid change those responsible for libraries and library services are adapting, building, leading and innovating in ways never seen before. As the traditional concept of the library undergoes a profound transformation due to the impact of technologies, now is the time to consider the future…to ask: What could or should the library change into? Will it retain a role in society, or even in its parent institution? Will it become more proactive in influencing its environment or will it continue to be reactive to the forces that are shaping society? Come to Rotorua and join us as we reflect on and celebrate best-present practice and examine the wealth of possibilities for a transformed future!
