The New York State Library Assistants’ Association will hold its 26th annual conference in Rochester, New York on June 9-11, 2004. The conference will be at the Hyatt Regency Rochester. This year’s theme is "Library Assistants: The Roots Supporting Healthy Libraries".
On Wednesday June 9th, the annual "mixer" will be held at the hotel. This is traditionally a time for good food, music, and socializing.
Conference attendees will attend two workshops on Thursday and two on Friday. Some of the topics from which to choose are Publicity for Your Library; Digging Up Your Roots; Self Protection; PowerPoint; Handheld Computers: What Are They Good For?; The NYSLAA Certificate of Achievement; The Problem of Plagiarism on College Campuses; Reference Panel and Roundtable; Patents.
The annual NYSLAA Town Meeting will be held Thursday morning, and that evening there will be a dinner and planetarium show at the Rochester Museum and Science Center.
The Friday luncheon will be the time for presentation of awards and the keynote speakers. This year’s speakers will be Sandra Hackett, NYSLAA’s first president, and Dorothy Morgan, NYSLAA’s Ambassador.
