Hello,

      It is so nice that we Library Technicians are gaining more and more of a 'voice'. Thoroughly enjoyed your online journal.

      I work for a large public library system, and also hold a position as a teaching assistant in the 'Library and Information Technology Program'.

      I have linked your site to mine: http://home.istar.ca/~allegrow/library&cataloguinglinks2.htm

[From the Editors: Thanks!}

      I would like to unsubscribe from assoc-l so I can subscribe to the web announcement. I have been on assoc-l since the beginning and we have changed our university address since then. I think it might have been redhead@ksuvm.ksuvm.edu or something close to that. Can you help me get unsubscribed? Thanks.

[From the Editors: Sure. A reminder to everyone, if your email address changes, you will no longer be able to change your subscription info yourself. Just drop us a line and we’ll be glad to help.]

      The Paraprofessional Division of the Georgia Library Association invites you to view our new web site at http://mainlib.mercer.edu/glapd/ While much of the information included is state-specific, we do try to link to national & Internet resources. We also welcome comments and suggestions for addition content!

Subject: Promotional Materials

      I am with the Virginia Library Association Paraprofessional Forum. For our May Conference we are planning to have a session devoted to professional organizations for paraprofessionals.

      We want to emphasize the many opportunities available for personal and professional development. We have asked Gene Kinnaly to be a panelist and I have asked him to emphasize the professional writing he does for professional journals. I am sure we have a wealth of talent in our paraprofessional ranks and that many of these folks don't know about the opportunity presented by journals such as Associates.

      Do you have brochures or any type of written materials you could share with us for the conference. I am guessing that we will have about 50 attending this session but we have between 400 and 500 at the conference and would be happy to include your information on the table we have for this purpose. We want to be sure that the word get out to folks who might not otherwise be aware of your publication.

      Thanks for anything you can do. Look forward to hearing from you. As I said the conference is in May so I won't need this material for a while but if I could have it by mid May, that would be terrific.

[From the Editors: Wendee Eyler, one of our editors, is in the process of creating an Associates brochure for use at various conferences, workshops, etc. If any of you would like a copy to make copies of to pass out (we have *no* budget so can’t afford to send you lots of copies ourselves), let us know and we’ll send them along when they’re ready.
